And let me tell you....it's NOT about the recipe

I don't know why I seem to find almost no time for my scrapbooking/card making/stamping anymore. I made a whole bunch of stuff not long after the babies were born and yet I do almost nothing now. Of course, I didn't have the computer then and that might have had something to do with. *shrug*

Nowadays I only seem to do something when I have to. I was in one card exchange group that sort of fell apart, and then I signed up for another group that I've missed both times. But these are what I made for it. This group does a theme each month and in March they had a dessert recipe exchange. But this is not your typical recipe exchange....this is all about who can present their recipe in the cutest way.

And I have a confession to make....I've never even made my recipe. I found it online because it went with a S'more stamp I had. That's how much it is not about the recipe. It was fun anyway.......

And here is my baby card from February. When I take pictures of my cards they never seem to turn out so I tried scanning this time. It seemed to work pretty well except for it seems to mess with the colors a bit. The green paper and the green words in the stamp are supposed to be the same. So that's it. The extent of my craftiness for February and March. I have a feeling it's going to get more seldom rather than more often from here on out. But I figured I'd share anyway. If you like the scrapbooking/stamping stuff you have to check out my friend Emily's blog. She's the expert!

Love is in the air (and mail)

I recently sent out a package of my favorite things and also a V-day package for a swap. I burnt them each a CD of love songs but then I couldn't just put them in some lame-o plastic case so I made them each a CD case. So here they are, I used supplies from Stampin up! Fun stuff, eh? Oh, and check out my music necklace giveaway here. Or not, I wouldn't mind keeping it myself.... ;) And most of all, thank you for reading!

Hey, one more thing..... I have a little surprise coming up but the only hint I can give you is that you will want to read all the way through my posts. So to my faithful readers......it's for you, so pay attention!

Dude, it's a card

I have been feeling very uninspired in the creative realm of life lately. I'm in more of a survival mode. (perhaps some of you have been there yourselves). But here is the card I made for my latest card exchange. The stamps come from the Stampin Up! So cool set. I am going to be making my son's Valentines cards. Actually, he and I will be making them together. And I totally swear scouts honor that I will try to not micromanage the entire process and make them into what I want instead of what he wants. I swear, really, totally, for sure.

Get your craft on

For any of you that have read my past few posts it may come as a surprise to you that the url for this blog includes such words and scrap and stamp, since I haven't posted anything of that nature in just about forever. The first blog I created was my family blog (which is private but if I know you I'll invite you, just drop me an email), and that blog has family news, pics of my kids, etc.

When I first started this blog it was a place to talk about my scrapbooking, stamping, selling games, reading, and singing. Basically a place to chronicle the exciting world of my hobbies. Since then it has morphed into a bit of everything, pretty much whatever I feel like at the time. Lately it has been a bit negative because I've started using this blog as a place to express how I'm really feeling. And I figured since almost nobody reads it I'm safe. So this blog is more of a journal than anything else and if you don't like it, well, you don't have to read it. (And chances are you're not anyway) sigh There I go with that negativity again.

So, here are my latest projects of a crafty nature, honestly it's not that I've stopped doing scrapping and stamping, it's just that I'm lazy about taking pictures. And I haven't been doing them as much, that's for sure. And also most of the things I've done or are working on are Christmas presents so on the off chance that a family member comes here I can't exactly post those yet, ya know? Hope you enjoy seeing the fruits of probably the least artistic person you'll ever meet.

My fall floral arrangement that I made at enrichment night.

Wow, I really need to work on my photography skills. Sorry.

This is one of my card exchange cards and the right corner that you can't see very well says "You're never too old to do goofy stuff"

My Christmas card exchange card from 2007

My Christmas card exchange card from this year. Words say "Tis the season"

The card I made at Stampin club. I know, so annoying that these are crooked but I'm too lazy to go straighten them out.

Another card exchange card.

For my amazingly talented brother

I made a card!! This is for my older brother, Jay, who is an amazing artist, and I mean amazing! You can check out his website here. Not only is he an incredible artist who is almost done with his Masters degree, he also finds time to write Symphonies on the side (and be the cutest daddy ever). He really does so much it's completely mind boggling. He recently celebrated his birthday and he also had his art in a couple of shows and so I wanted to make him an extra special card. I cased this from Angela Sgro's designs. The inside sun is the artwork of my neighbor KaeLynn Winn. This card was really fun to make. The saying is: "Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot, others transform the yellow spot into the sun." Pablo Picasso

I finished a project!.....well almost anyway

Here is my nearly finished address book. I am still trying to decide what, if anything, to say on the front. So to anyone who actually reads this, comment telling me what to put on it, if anything, and if I pick yours you will get coolest person of the year award. Yay!! Anyway, here's a picture. I used the new DS paper from Stampin Up! I think it's afternoon tea or something like that. And it's the chipboard album and ribbon and some cool punches and all that fun stuff. I can give more details to anyone that leaves a comment asking for them but I'm just too lazy to go figure out what all I used. But here it is anyway, inspired from my friend Em and her awesome classes!

April Card Exchange

I had the hardest time figuring out what to do for my card exchange card this month. I wanted to do a Mother's day card this month and a Father's day card next month but I just didn't have enough ink and supplies to make 9 of the Mother's day one so I did the Father's day early. I have included pictures of both. The Mother's day card has the art work of my neighbor who is an amazing artist. You can check out her clipart here. She does beautiful work!

March Card Exchange

Here is my March card exchange card. I had to use my new scallop punch from Stampin up! I used Wild Wasabi, soft sky and apricot appeal paper and ink. It says "They say it's your" on the outside and "Birthday" on the inside. The square inside the flower has an HB. I like these colors, they make me think of spring. Sorry it's not a great picture.

Spring thank you

If anybody is actually looking here they are probably thinking holy cow this blog is so stinking boring. I'm sorry about that but my twins keep me from doing much of "the things I do for fun". Although playing with them is fun in itself. I did get to sing last weekend with DE and two other couples at Stake Conference. It was nice to get to sing again. I wrote more about that on my other blog. Anyway, here is a card and a little bottle of goodies I made for my neighbor. She has come over twice now and cleaned my house and done my dishes. She has also taken my kids a few times as well which is not the easiest thing to do let me tell you. I finally got around to making her something using two things I got from Sale a bration. It's not a great picture but I used the rubons on the jar and the scallop punch and stamps on the card. It was fun and I love these colors. The card says: "A friend is someone who makes it easy".

valentine project (a bit late)

Here is the Valentine project I did. Soon I hope that I will be able to post with RECENT projects I am doing. I seem to have a hard time scrapbooking and making cards and projects with no hands. (They seem to always be filled with babies). But here's what I did last month using mostly Stampin Up! stuff. (But I'm not a consultant yet so I can use whatever I want.) hee hee And yes, it's supposed to be screwompus, I was trying to be creative with the camera.
