Why do I always forget?

Lately, I've really started wondering if there is something wrong with me.

I never used to be this way.

I try to chalk it up to kids, stress, etc. etc.....but I feel like I've lost a part of myself.

You see, I forget things.

All. the. time.

Big things, little things, daily things, short term things and long term things.

It's like I store them in my brain, and there isn't enough room, so there you go, POOF!

it's gone.

I can write it on my calendar, remind myself multiple times a day, and I still forget.

I need a badge holder with a picture of me in it and my name, so that I can at least figure that out when I forget.

It honestly feels like either my mind is so full of stress and worry about so many things that there isn't room for anything else, or that it's just shutting down.

I wish I could plug in a flash drive, download some info to it, and clear a little space.

Start over.

Fresh.

It almost feels like......my brain needs sleep.  A good long sleep.

You guys, I don't know what to do.  I always feel like I'm forgetting something. Always.  I have this feeling that I'm letting people down.  I know I am.

But I don't know what to do.....

is this normal?  Just part of being a Mom?

Because if so......

I'm done having kids.

Although......

I must say, the room in my heart keeps growing.  Because every time I think I couldn't love my boys more than I do...

I do.

So at least that part of me is okay.

Right?

  2. i totally get this... mine is so oddly tricky though. for years i can remember EVERYTHING that a friend tells me about their life. if they have a lunch date, a dental appointment, anything- i will remember it. stupid, impertinent things, and i remember them. my things- on the other hand- not so much...

  3. It's normal. It's disconcerting but it's normal. You're right in the middle of the family thing when they are really young and you are the one in charge. It's okay. You never really recover completely, but slowly your brain will come back to remembering stuff like that. Thank heaven for electric calendars on gadgets that can remind me! Hang in there!

  4. I have the same problem. I am hoping it is age, and yet, I am hoping it will miraculously fix itself and go away. If it is age, it is scary because I am not that old, and WHOA! I don't even want to imagine how bad it will be in 20 or so years...

  5. My mom constantly forgets things also, no matter how many times she reminds herself, writes them in her planner, etc. And as she has pointed out, it's better than when she used to be super stressed out all the time and no fun!

  6. Oh sweetie, I can relate. I have lists and notes, and yet I still forget things. I have alarms and reminders on my cell phone, and still forget things.

With every pregnancy, we lose brain cells and we never get them back. And yet I keep getting pregnant....

OCB- I always forget Activity Days too! lol
