Big changes.....can I handle it?

I've never really been good at change. Yes, I'm even worse at waiting. But this time I don't really know what I feel. Definitely relief, happiness, fear about finding a place to live, and also really, really excited. I am ready for a change I guess, or maybe just resigned to it.

But the overwhelming feeling right now is just plain old tired. And I still have so much to do it's exhausting just thinking about it. I really do not like the process of moving. I'm excited because it's my chance to dejunk. There is so much I'm just going to get rid of. But it's really such an exhausting process.

So I'm hoping I can get some energy and motivation soon. I should have it, I mean, we have a job!!! Maybe I'm just emotionally tired from worrying. Maybe I just want to complain. (hee hee)

So here's to change!

January: The month we really started to feel the economic crunch. We started getting more serious about food storage and I started planning for a garden and canning and food storage. Also the month that I first changed from simplyscrapstampsing to The Mom Nerd. That was huge for me!

February: We talked and decided we wanted to stay here and not look around for other jobs like we had past years. I became a partner at The Giveaway.

March: Eldon was told that his contract would not be renewed for next year. Yep, we got laid off. But in my post about this I pointed out the positive. And I had to go back and read that a few times in the coming months.
(Here is Eldon at his very last concert as a teacher here. His Dad came and conducted. It was a wonderful concert and of course I bawled!)

April: My twins turned 2. For any of you that remember, the twins were sick and I didn't actually have their party until like two weeks later. Yep, that's the kind of organized Mom I've been.

May: Preschool ended, school ended, we had many interviews and then we finally got offered a job!! Then we got to celebrate Roo's 5th birthday!

Roo at his preschool graduation with his teacher who also happens to be his Mom.

Roo's 5th birthday party. Daddy made his cake. He wanted monster trucks and dinosaurs and I think Daddy did pretty good.

Tomorrow is the first of June. I am hoping in June we will find a place to live, make lots of money at our yard sale, be completely ready to move, and not go completely insane.

In July my husband and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary. I know we won't have much (any) money to do anything but we'll have each other.

And after ten years, 12 moves, 3 pregnancies, 4 kids, job changes, illness, financial stress, and all the other challenges that life brings,

that's all that really matters.

  2. Good NEWS about the job!YEAH! Where ya moving to this time? I'm happy for you. I'm in the same boat as you. WE are moving also to St. George UT but we can't move in June cause the last 2 weeks I'll be in PA visiting with my parents. Then I come home and it's MOVING time. Sounds like a fun summer huh?
We'll figure something out. Although I don't know if I will be able to stay sane through it all...:)

  3. 12 moves in 10 years? That tops anything I've heard of. Yes it's exhausting, but it sounds like you've got the experience to handle it. It'll be great when it's all over. Good luck!

  5. You struck a chord with me, touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. My 6 yr old daughter and I made a move cross-country last October. It was difficult but you reminded me of the courage it took to start a new life! Blessings on you and yours!

  6. For richer or poorer, in sickness or health, through bad times or good times we will be together forever. You two will look back when it is your 20th and wonder how you made it and how your kids made it and be thankful for all the blessings. You will barely remember the hard times. You will find the strength as you always have to put on foot in front of the other towards what is the best future for your family as you have for over 10 years. You always have worked hard with boat loads of energy that I am always envious of. You are a super woman, mother and wife, that not only is beautiful inside and out but also someone who knows what she wants and has the strength and courage to get it. Go Girl!

  7. embrace change...i will happen to to whether you want it to or not! teach the kids to embrace change or they will get so stuck in life. there was something in aunt mame about life is a banquet and some fools don't know enough to enjoy it...something like that...so pull up a chair and live!!

we so need to move...after 23 years in the house i have so much stuff. you need to take a room at a time. if you haven't used it in 2 years or more put in one of 2 piles...giveaway/donate and trash!

and be ruthless!!! remember garbage in = garbage out...that you have to unpack and find a place for!

    good luck!
