Then why on earth have I not posted my Valentine's pictures yet? What kind of slacker am I??!! (By the way, feeling better today. Still got a sore throat and achy pains but no more hot and cold shiver shakes fever, thank goodness)
Anyway, about Valentine's day, I shouldn't feel bad, I didn't post my V-day project last year until March. (you should check it out, I was more creative then) But this year I made treats/cards for my preschoolers, some for Roo to give to his class (he was not interested in helping, I tried), and then of course helped Ebug make his valentines. (He actually did do a lot, and picked the stamps and everything, I just helped decide where everything he picked would go. So I totally didn't do it, or even most of it. Really, I didn't.)
They show up in the order I mentioned them. The ones I made to give my preschoolers, the ones for the preschoolers from Roo, and then the ones Ebug and I made together for his 2nd grade class.
Sorry my pictures are not very good, I could touch them up but my program for that takes forever and I just don't feel like it. Sorry. Hope you'll forgive me.
Now for actual valentine's day Eldon and I went on a date! We got a babysitter and drove 45 minutes to the nearest town with anything (although still not much) to do. We ate at a little place that had a dutch oven prime rib special (one of my favorites) but it was really gross, undercooked even after I asked them to cook it more, potatoes were crunchy, salad was wilty, apple crisp was okay, but apples were too crunchy. Luckily Eldon got something else he really enjoyed.
Then he took me shopping for a present. (I got a couple of cute things from Maurices) Then we went bowling, which is something we haven't done for a long time! We had so much fun! Here is my man with his studly bowling moves! Really, it was a nice day and a lovely weekend. Just sad it's over. I can't wait until we can go on a date again!
P.S. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR COMMENTS!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!! YOU ALL REALLY MAKE MY DAY!
P.S.S For those of you who read a certain post with a certain secret something, don't forget that you can say that secret word in any and all comments you make until the end of the month to get certain extra entries. Don't know what I'm talking about? You might want to go back and read all the way through my posts. ;) Good luck!
These are great! I love the little bags with the toppers!
ReplyDeleteI love your treats! How creative are you?

You are so creative! I always have plans of grandeur...and then time flies! It's so lovely that you and you hubs got a date night! I'm so embarrased at our V-Day/Anniversary dinner. But I'll share, because everyone needs a laugh. Our 8th Anniversary, after a day of working, I get a Burger King Whooper. What a guy I have, eh? I love him anyway!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, all those valentines look strangely familiar . . . where have I seen them before? Love them--they are so cute! We were in town that day also--a date to Walmart and Sutherlands then back home for leftover (but delicious) potato/broccoli soup and made some rice pudding for dessert. Fun. We were even too cheap for little caesars pizza that day! :)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Gavin made his own valentines also--I'll have to find one if I can and show you--his own idea, they turned out pretty cute.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE how creative you are with your Valentine's Day crafts. Wishing I were half so crafty and knowing that the chances of that happening are slim to none!
ReplyDeleteI love that cool bowling shot! And the valentine's day treats look so fun. And I'm glad you are feeling a bit better!
ReplyDeleteWhat a LOVEly time you had with your sweetheart! I guess I've moved into the stage where I think Love day is for unmarried lovers...not us old fogies! It shouldn't be, but hubby has not one romantic bone in his body! I knew this when we married and I have learned to be content KNOWING he loves me without all the frufru gestures...But I envy you your night out...except for the poorly cooked meal!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that! I love that you are doing this giveaway! I love that you are my sister and I love valentine's day. Oh man! By the way your comment was funny on my blog!
ReplyDeleteThe Valentines were so cute - I am sure the kids LOVEd them. We also LOVE prime rib for special occasions - so sorry yours was not the way you love it!

I love the valentines. I just was too worn out this year to make them and it felt good. :) I'm so glad you got to go on a date night. You deserve it. I just hope I can babysit next time and not working.
