They love me. They really love me. *sniff*

I am pretty well rendered speechless. Honestly. That look of love you see right up there? From me to you.

39 comments on my last post and it's not even a giveaway?!

I'll be honest, fair readers. I was afraid that people had come to this awesome blog because of my $50 giveaway, and left when it was over. Forever........

I've been losing subscribers faster than gaining in the last couple of weeks and I have this bad habit of noticing the stats on other blogs. And of course comparing.

But I learned a very valuable lesson from this. Wanna know what it was? huh? Doya?

Okay, okay, I'll tell you. I already knew it didn't matter. In my head I knew. I was basically throwing a little pity party for really no reason at all. Actually, I'll be honest, I was looking for validation. I am the kind of person who likes validation. (of course, who isn't really?)

Anyway, (why do I ramble so successfully?) what I learned is that it isn't the comments that matter. It's knowing that I matter to somebody that matters. And yes, I know, I have 5 somebody's right here at home that I matter a lot to. And they are so easy to love, and they love me so easily. But I've come to realize that I don't really blog for me. Maybe I should, but I don't, not really. Yeah, free stuff, reviews, giveaways, etc. are fun but why I really blog is because I want to reach out to at least one person (and hopefully more) and make them feel a little better about themselves and life. (even if it is just by comparing themselves to my nerdy self).

So as long as one person reads this. And as long as one person gets something from it. I'll keep writing.

Although I'll admit, I do still love comments!

P.S. On Monday we are going to Cali to see my brother Jay's big art show for his Master's Degree and we are staying for the week. Very excited!!! I will still have a giveaway next week but if you don't hear from me much that's why! I'll let you know how it goes when I get back. (or while I'm there if I can sneak on his computer. Boy I need a laptop!)

P.S.S Michele, did you see the picture of my future star up there? Just as long as he doesn't choose American Idol! ;)

  1. What? Why NOT American Idol? Better to say as long as he doesn't choose The Bachelor!!!!

  3. Sorry, I had a real comment to make. And just remembered as I was about to shut down for real.

I got a lot happier as soon as I stopped being able to look at stats (when google bought feedburner or something). Now I have to logout of gmail and log back in under Tom's name to see my stats, and I'm so much happier when I forget (for weeks) to do it.

  4. To be quite honest, I think all too many people sign up for the giveaways. I know I lose 'em after a giveaway's done too. Pffft. What do they know? haha

I am REALLY loving that sweet picture. That is just awesome. Too stinkin' cute. :-P

  6. I totally understand! I try very hard to not compare my blog to others but I sort of suck at it! LOL! I am totally in the growing stages right now and for some reason I have it in my head that I should be getting hundreds of hits daily! It' unreasonable for where I am, but you know how it is! Anyway, like I said before, I really like your blog. I'm not a mom, but you aren't all 'in your face' about the whole mom thing. I like that. Just another woman blogger!

  7. Jane- LOL, he BETTER NOT be on The Bachelor! We'll disown him! My friend Michele has a son who is #12 in the country for track and he's only a freshmen in college. So she was telling me how I'll get to see my sons go on to do great things. So no, not any of those you listed. And honestly, I don't want them to be a "star", I just want them to succeed in whatever they do. Duh. Although they can just be average and that's good for me too. As long as they stay close to the Lord, serve missions, etc etc
Melonie- No kidding! (although I must say I've been guilty of it....doh)
Jingle- Heck no you don't have to be a Mom to come here!

  10. If that's son #2 like it looks like to me, he can't be on the Bachelor--he's already spoken for and you know Kira doesn't put up with things not going her way! ;) (if I'm mistaken and it's Iz, well, they certainly look alot alike!)

  11. Angela- nope, not #2, he's safe for Kira. It is Iz and I don't think it occurred to me how alike they look. You have fun tomorrow!

  12. What's great about the internet is also what's not great about the internet. I think so, anyway. You can find super cool (or super nerdy) people easily, but you can lose them easily. I know I am rebuilding my world right now because I lost nearly all my contacts when my computer died. I know, I know. I should have had everything backed up and all that. I know better. But what fun is that? What would I complain about then?

  13. Have fun in Cali. I have a ex sis-in-law there (but we are still Buds). One day I WILL go there and visit, even if I have to take a travel nurse assignment to do it.

Love the picture of your little guy!

  17. What a cutie!!! Anyway, i totally understand what you mean. Sometimes I have a ton of visitors, and yet no comments, and sometimes I have a few comments and no visitors, and while I LOVE comments, if I go a while without anyone actually saying something, I start to wonder "where did everyone go? aren't I funny or interesting anymore?" :) But then, I try to remember that my blog is actually supposed to be my venting, my time for me, and if people read and talk to me, all the better, but if they don't, well, at least I have memories documented.
