It's too easy

It's too easy to see the good in others, and not the good in myself.

It's too easy to evaluate, dissect, analyze, and dwell on every single thing I do wrong.

It's too easy to get overwhelmed.

It's too easy to want to give up.

It's too easy. Effortless.

If there is one thing I've found, it's that happiness does not come easily. It takes effort.

So I look at myself in the mirror, seeing myself inside and out, good and bad, and tell myself; "You are beautiful." It's hard, but I do it.

All day long I have a quiet prayer in my heart, that I will be able to let go of the guilt, and enjoy the small moments that will pass so quickly. It's hard, but I do it.

Every day, I take the daily stress, the scary things going on in the world, take them in and let them go. Be aware but don't dwell, let it motivate but not handicap. It is hard, but I do it.

When I want to give up, I don't. It's hard, but I do it.

And the only reason I can do it? It's because I never have to do it alone.

And the reason why it's worth it? Well, because it brings happiness and joy.

Hard stuff is worth doing.

Over and over and over.

  1. I do the same thing. I can lose sleep worrying about how I (too often) say the wrong thing.

You are amazing, though. I'm so glad to know you.

  4. Amen, Amen, Amen. I love part about dissecting myself. It is hard to look in the mirror and see myself, it is hard to see why people would want to be around me.
