Nine years ago my life changed forever

Nine years ago today I became a different person. No, that wasn't when I first started noticing gray hairs, although it was probably when I first started to develop them, that's for sure.

No, today my oldest son turned nine. I know that I really had no idea how much my life would change that day. All of a sudden there's this little person that is always on your mind and your heart, no matter what you are doing.

I feel like my prayers weren't quite as pleading until he was born.

The sun wasn't quite as bright before he was born.

I didn't have the ability to laugh so much, cry so hard, feel so deep.

It's not like romantic love that has to be cultivated, as wonderful as it is.

It's a love that really takes no effort. Even on the days when you want to ship them off to the zoo. No, not even then.

I love you sweet boy. And don't you ever forget it.

(More details about our day and pictures of the handsome guy tomorrow.)

  5. A huge happy birthday to the Master!
You and your son have your birthdays in Novemeber and so do me and my son! WE ROCK!
Next year it is "double digits"...we always made a huge deal about "double digits" because it is the only time, for the first time in their live they will have 2 numbers. Might seem corny...but, the kids looked forward to it. Kinda like sweet sixteen...LOL!

  6. I can not believe you have a child who is 9 years old! That's crazy! I really enjoyed how you explained the love of a mother. That was beautiful.
