How many of you put your kids in time out? At my house it is the quiet corner but it amounts to the same thing. Sometimes children need a place to think about how they could have made a better choice and to cool down.
If you're a Mommy, or a Daddy for that matter, you know that sometimes you just need some time out, too. And that's why I love Time Out Spots! They have great products for kids, babies, parents and even pets! They sent me their Limited Edition Black Ringer Mommy Tee with Rhinestones which I love! It's soft and comfy and cute, and of course I love the saying.
Well, guess what?! They have agreed to give one of their Mommy Needs a Time Out Tees to one of my readers! You can choose your top two colors and they will do their best to give you the one you want! I really like their pink tee, too! Before I teach preschool again I am going to buy one of their Time Out Spots. I think they are such a good idea and are so cute! I also love their clothes for kids, babies and daddy's.

I usually use a timeout for my son. And that works sometimes. Not always.
ReplyDeleteI think I am a novice when it comes to discipline. I use timeouts but I don't think that they are that effective for my 2 year old.

I had never heard of time out when my kids were little but I found out that taking previliges from them worked really good. My grandson hated time out so much it worked for him. and the shirt is for ME, I like 1. black ringer and 2. green in SSL
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to your totally awesome blog and want that extra entry

ReplyDeleteThe discipline that works best for us is taking away priveledges or things they really enjoy. Like losing t.v. for the day or losing time outside, computer time, etc.

I use timeouts/or something like it for tantrums. The older kids earn "t.v. dollars" (play money) for their chores, and bad behavior means they lose some of that money. My kids are addicted to t.v., so this seems to be our most effective tool so far. I'm not sure it will work so well now that my oldest is in middle school:)
ReplyDeleteI take priveleges away from my son that seems to work best with him, he's 4, My daughter is 2 and time out works well with her, currently using her crib but would love a timeout spot, what a cute idea. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI follow your bolg!
ReplyDeleteI use a mix of time-outs, taking away privileges (TV time, etc) and taking away their right to make family decisions (like what to have for dinner, where to go for fun, etc).

I use 1, 2, 3 Magic without the 2 and 3. They get timeouts.

Time outs, loose privleges, occasionally major offenses require an early bed time.
