Our first baby was a surprise, our second came along after one try, but when I got pregnant with the twins we had been trying for 7 months because we were "trying" for a girl. But instead of getting a girl we got twins.....and boys!
I went to my first Dr.'s appointment and I was measuring big so we thought maybe I was a month further than what I initially thought. Long story short we went in for an ultrasound to determine my due date and got the shock of our life......TWO!! I remember just feeling complete and utter shock. And then I cried. But honestly, once I got over the shock and realized it really wasn't that unique I learned to just enjoy each moment.....well most of them anyway....okay,........ some. And I can honest to goodness say that I love it. But......finding cute clothes for them is sometimes hard. Before I had them I looked around a little but didn't find much. Since then I've found a fantastic site called Twinz Gear!
I wish I had known about them earlier but I also can't wait to find someone having twins so I can shop for them there. They have products for twins, singletons, parents, grandparents, siblings, you name it, I bet they've got it! And I love that it was a family who was also surprised to get twins that started it. Here's a bit of their story:
After being surprised half way through our pregnancy that we were going to have twins, my husband and I immediately panicked. We didn't know were to turn or what to do. But as we shared our exciting news with friends and family, our good news began to spread. Quickly, we discovered we were now becoming part of a wonderful network. The network of families with twins. The outpouring of support and encouragement we received from other twins families was just wonderful and that's what we want to create here for other twins families. In addition, my husband and I had enjoyed a very active lifestyle with our first child. We skied in the winter and boated in the summer and quickly found that those activities were very difficult once our twins came along. Our goal here is to help other twins families find the gear they need to get back to an active lifestyle as quickly as possible.
You can see why I have been so impressed with their company. They are so generous that they sent me those adorable TW-IN t-shirts my boys are wearing and they also sent me a Diaper Waistpack to give away. Awesome, I know!! Here's a little more about what you can win:

Okay, I don't even have to go to their site to be LOVING the "Thing 1/Thing 2" onesies. Those are hilarious!!! lol I don't have twins but they (and triplets) run in my family - I've been shocked that neither of my kids was twins/trips.
ReplyDeleteMy husband asked me today if I could imagine if our son had been sextuplets. Wait - is he trying to tell me something???? (If you don't hear from me for a while, it's because I've gone into hiding on that idea. LOL)
I've always wanted twins! Until a close friend had them and I've watched her life through sleepless days and nights. But sitll. The concept. ;D
ReplyDeleteHow very fun though (and I love those shirts)!
Secretly...maybe when I was a little girl, I wanted twins, or triplets. Doesn't every little girl? Then when I became pregnant with #1 and realized what that all means, I think I was grateful to not have twins off the bat. Now, honestly, I wouldn't mind...I'd just be nervous about having small babies or premies.

My favorite products are the thing one and thing two onesies...and the bed bolsters. Those look nice, especially for my toddler who likes to roll off his bed.

ReplyDeleteI don't know if I can come up with the best moment with my twins-they do something to make me smile almost daily. Right now Zoey is learning to stand and she keeps using her brothers head for balance-it is so funny to watch. He isn't as humored however since when she goes to fall she pulls his hair to keep from falling!
ReplyDeleteWhen I found out I was having twins I too cried-they had to stop doing the ultrasound because I was shaking so violently. I just kept telling the dr I can't have twins I already have two kids at home and they are only three and one. You are right though-now that they are here they are a wonderful blessing that I wouldn't trade for the world. Lot of work though!!!!

ReplyDeleteOh and one last thought-I own those thing 1 and thing 2 onsies and they are so darn cute!!! I love them!
ReplyDeleteI guess the thought of having twins has crossed my mind before but usually not as a good thing. It happens when I am overwhelmed by my kids and I think, "Thank goodness there isn't too of them!" I am amazed by parents of multiples, I don't know if I would survive.
ReplyDeleteI have your button on my blog
ReplyDeleteI ALWAYS wanted twin but never had them. I have a friend who has just had triplets. Two boys and a girl, who added to the home of one 18 month old girl. Thats a hand full, 2 boys and 2 girls. They came home last week.
ReplyDeleteI love the Organic Teddy Bears. Thank you for allowing me to enter.
ReplyDeleteI am a subscriber. Your twins look like angels but I think I see that twinkle in their eyes. Mom, Watch out these are going to be a handful!
ReplyDeleteThe thought of having twins scares the you-know-what out of me! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I ever secretly wished for twins. I had six kids and the first two were 14 months apart...ALMOST like twins...had three in diapers for a while since #3 made an appearance shortly after, but I have secretly wished for twins for my kids....it runs on both my and my husbands side! But so far only 7 singles....there's still plenty of hope since only 3 of my kids are married yet, and the two youngest are girls who should be the ones to carry the gene! LOL.
ReplyDeleteI've always thought it would be neat but never wished for it, that's for sure

I can't say thst I've ever wished for twins. My older sister had twin girls that cried pretty much non stop for about 2 years, and not only did it sort of secretly make me scared of twins, it made me a little scared of babies for a while. lol
ReplyDeleteThat fear resurfaced when the girls were about 16 years old...
I follow.
ReplyDeleteI always thought having Twins would be wonderful. We have quite a few sets of Twins on my maternal side. I used to take care of Triplets, they were great fun. ( I returned them at the end of the day) 3 boys.. Their mom had 5 boys in 7 years. They were great joy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing with all of us. Great site.
