I don't know how people do it

With sick kids and being a sick Mommy I pretty much got nothing done this week, as you know. And since my fun stuff this weekend got canceled I decided I'd better catch up on work. I slept in this morning, and started work about 10:30, and except for a quick break to eat some lunch I've been going ever since. (It's now almost 6:30)

I just stopped, partly because I realized I hadn't done my post yet, and partly because my body and head were hurting so bad I couldn't even talk anymore, when I realized.....

There are people that do this all day every day. They have to. They don't have a choice. They work eight hour shifts, at a desk. Every. single. day.

Granted, they normally don't have to try to take care of kids at the same time, and I hope they don't have to do all the laundry and cleaning and cooking as well. But you know what's weird? There are people that do.

There are single Moms out there that have to get up at the crack of dawn just to get their kids all fed and out the door to daycare or school. Then they have to go work somewhere for 8 whole hours (or more) with too short of a break I'm sure. And then they can't just go home and relax, they have to cook, clean, laundry, help with homework, etc. etc. etc. just like I do.

Whoa, Nelly. No clue here how they do that. I just don't think I could.

So here is what I am grateful for.....

I am grateful that I can work from home. Even if it is still hard.

I am grateful that I have a husband that works hard for us. And then gives up his one free day to watch the kids and cook and clean (yes, he did that today) while I work.

I am grateful that I am able to go out and do fun things with family and friends and that I normally don't have a babysitter because their dad is so willing to help.

I am grateful for the opportunities we have to make money.

And I am grateful that my bad moods, as bad as they may be at the time, do pass.

We can all thank the good Lord for that now.

Let me hear an AMEN!

  2. It is indeed a mystery how single mommy's do it. I don't care if you have one or 10 little princes or princesses, doing it all yourself is THE PITS.
